Puzzle FAQ

Everything you need to know about the Puzzle Watch Display System

Puzzle is a modular watch display system designed for collectors.

Start with a single stand. Add another as your collection grows. Introduce a Puzzle Tray for your everyday carry. Then arrange and rearrange the pieces to create a display that's uniquely yours.

Here are answers to the questions we're asked most often.

THE PUZZLE SYSTEM

What is the Puzzle Watch Stand?

The Puzzle Watch Stand is a freestanding display designed to give your watch a dedicated place when it's off the wrist.

Unlike a conventional watch stand, Puzzle is modular. Each stand can connect with additional Puzzle Stands and Puzzle Trays, allowing you to build a display around your collection rather than being restricted to a fixed layout.

Start with one. Add another. Reconfigure whenever your collection changes.

How does the Puzzle system connect?

The distinctive Puzzle-shaped base allows individual stands and trays to interlink, creating a continuous modular display.

No tools, screws or permanent fixings are required.

Simply position the pieces together to create your preferred configuration. They can be separated and rearranged whenever you want.

Do I need more than one Puzzle Stand?

Not at all.

Every Puzzle Stand works perfectly as a standalone display.

The modular design simply gives you the option to expand later. If another watch joins your collection, another Puzzle Stand can join your display.

Can I mix Puzzle Stands and Puzzle Trays?

Yes.

Puzzle Stands and Puzzle Trays are designed as one system and can be connected in different combinations.

For example:

Stand + Stand

Stand + Tray

Stand + Tray + Stand

Or build a larger configuration around your collection.

There is no fixed arrangement.

Can I mix Inox and Obsidian?

Absolutely.

Inox and Obsidian share the same Puzzle geometry and can be connected together.

Choose one finish throughout for a uniform display or mix the two finishes for contrast.

WATCH COMPATIBILITY & PROTECTION

Will Puzzle fit my watch?

Puzzle has been designed to accommodate a broad range of modern watches and strap types, including sports watches, dress watches and everyday pieces.

The open support design means the watch rests naturally on the stand rather than being forced around a fixed cushion.

Can I use Puzzle with a metal bracelet?

Yes.

Puzzle works particularly well with watches on metal bracelets.

The watch rests naturally over the central support while soft rubber O-rings create protected contact points between your watch and the stand.

What about leather, rubber or fabric straps?

Yes.

Puzzle can be used with metal bracelets, leather straps, rubber straps and fabric straps.

Simply place the watch over the support and allow the strap or bracelet to rest naturally behind it.

Will the steel scratch my watch?

Your watch does not rest directly against bare steel at the main contact points.

Soft rubber O-rings are positioned on the support to create a protective surface where your watch meets the stand.

Protecting the watch was a fundamental part of the Puzzle design from the beginning.

As with any watch accessory, we recommend placing and removing your watch normally rather than dragging the case or bracelet across the stand.

Will Puzzle support a larger watch?

Yes.

Puzzle is made from layered steel rather than lightweight plastic or thin folded material.

The substantial construction and wide base give the stand the stability required for modern mechanical watches.

MATERIALS & CONSTRUCTION

What is Puzzle made from?

The Puzzle Watch Stand is constructed from three layers of precision laser-cut steel.

The layered construction creates the distinctive open profile while providing weight, rigidity and stability.

Soft rubber O-rings protect the watch at its contact points.

What is the difference between Inox and Obsidian?

The underlying Puzzle design is the same.

Inox exposes the character of the metal with a clean, industrial brushed-steel appearance.

Obsidian uses a dark powder-coated finish for a more understated, architectural look.

Both are designed to work individually or together.

Where is Puzzle designed?

Puzzle is designed in Dublin, Ireland by Chrome Calibre founder and watch collector Karl Brown.

Chrome Calibre approaches watch accessories as objects worth displaying in their own right — combining industrial design, functionality and a little rebellion against the conventional.

What are the dimensions?

The Puzzle Stand measures approximately:

165 mm × 110 mm × 90 mm

Its footprint has been designed to provide stability without dominating a desk, bedside table, dressing area or watch display.

CUSTOMISATION

Can I choose the O-ring colour?

Yes.

Every Puzzle Stand uses seven protective rubber O-rings, available in:

Black · Yellow · Red · Turquoise/Aqua · Pink · Orange · White

Keep it understated, complement a dial or strap, or add a contrasting colour to the display.

Replacement O-ring sets are also available if you want to change the look later.

Can I change the O-rings later?

Yes.

Your Puzzle setup doesn't have to remain the same.

Changing the O-ring colour is an easy way to give the stand a different character when you change watches or simply want a new look.

Can I see my configuration before ordering?

Yes.

Use our interactive BUILD YOUR PUZZLE configurator to experiment with your setup before ordering.

Add stands and trays, choose finishes, explore O-ring colours and rotate your configuration in 3D.

Build it before we build it.

THE PUZZLE TRAY

What is the Puzzle Tray?

The Puzzle Tray is the companion piece to the Puzzle Watch Stand.

It uses the same interlocking Puzzle geometry but replaces the watch support with a leather-lined tray for the small objects you carry every day.

What can I keep in the Puzzle Tray?

The tray is ideal for items such as:

Keys, cufflinks, rings, jewellery, pens, coins and other everyday carry.

It can be used independently or incorporated into a larger Puzzle watch display.

Does the Puzzle Tray connect to the Watch Stand?

Yes.

That's the point.

The Puzzle Tray uses the same interlocking geometry as the Watch Stand, allowing it to become part of your overall display.
